Your IP. Your Network. Your Information.
Discover your public IP address and explore the network information associated with your connection.
This is the public address your network presents to the internet, not your device's private local IP. Location data is approximate and may not match where you are.

About IP Checks
IP Checks is a simple, privacy-conscious web utility designed to help you understand public IP addresses and explore available network information.
What is an IP address?
An Internet Protocol address identifies a network interface or endpoint so devices can communicate across IP networks. IPv4 uses four numbers like 203.0.113.7. IPv6 uses longer hexadecimal groups like 2001:db8::1.
What can an IP lookup reveal?
- Approximate geographic location
- Internet service provider and network organization
- Autonomous System Number (ASN)
- Timezone and related network metadata
Results depend on the data provider and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
IPv4 vs IPv6
IPv4 addresses are 32 bits (about 4.3 billion possible). IPv6 addresses are 128 bits, which allows a vastly larger space. Most networks run both, and IPv6 use keeps growing as IPv4 addresses run short.
Is IP geolocation accurate?
No. It is approximate, often accurate only to a city or region. VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, corporate gateways, and ISP routing all affect results. A lookup cannot reliably reveal anyone's home address.
Privacy & security
- On load, this page asks ipwho.is for your public IP and its details. When you search, it sends the address you typed to the same provider.
- IP Checks has no backend, saves no lookup history, and uses no analytics. Nothing is written to browser storage except your theme choice.
- The provider receives your request and may process it under its own terms. Avoid entering addresses you consider sensitive.
